The MAA purchased the carriage house behind their downtown DC headquarters with the intent to build a state of the art conference center while maintaining the historical architectural character of the building. Architect Jonathon Rodvien of Bowie Gridley Architects created a design that met every goal.

The architectural woodwork details, doors, hardware and windows are all consistent with the exterior styling of the early-1900s brick structure. ECI gutted the building to its shell and built out this highly functional and beautiful space, constrained by the unique alley location. This is ECI's fourth successful collaboration with Bowie Gridley Architects.
